Welcome to the Nest
Welcome Seward Vacation Properties manages three locations Two of which we own and the third is our neighbor's vacation townhouse which we manage.

A Swan Nest Inn is half way between a hotel and a B&B. It has a homey feel but you do not feel like your in someone's home. It is located on the second floor of the historic IOOF building on a quite street one block from central downtown, one block from the ocean and three blocks from the Sea Life Center. All the rooms have private bathrooms and a low ceilinged loft with extra beds. Rooms sleep 4 to 5 people. This is affordable accommodation with smaller rooms and two common areas for guest to mingle. Rooms start at $115

Seward Front Row B&B is our waterfront home finished in 2010. It is located two blocks from central downtown and two block from the Sea Life Center. Daily we can watch sea lions, otter and occasionally whales from the house. We have a ground floor room with a private entrance and its own kitchen. This is not a handicap room but it is wheel chair accessible. In the main house we have two rooms with private bathrooms. The views from the house are unsurpassed in Seward. Rooms start at $145.

Seward Front Row Townhouse is a three bedroom waterfront townhouse rented as one unit. This is definitely upscale, realistically the nicest place available to rent in Seward. Unsurpassed views and all the amenities including a hot tub. $400 to $550 per night.

Our manager Heather Apperson
Our dog Kia Orana

In the late 90’s we quite the rat race, and with our 9 year old son, sailed into the sunset on our 41’ sailboat “Mirage.” Along the way we visited Alaska and in 2000 when we were finished with that adventure we made Seward our new home. We restored the Historic IOOF building and started A Swan Nest Inn and more recently build a home on Seward’s waterfront. We hike, ski, sail, fish, row and absolutely love the outdoor life that Alaska offers.
Heather was born and raised in Seward. She graduated from the University of Alaska in 2010. She like most kids in Seward has worked in the tourist industry most of her life. She is a wealth of knowledge and can be very helpful with your vacation planning needs.
Kia Orana is a greeting in Moari similar to Aloha. She is mentioned here because she is part of the staff. Her job is to take guest on morning walks and afternoon hikes. She knows all the local trails and bears know to keep their distance. She has never lost a guest.
